_{I tend to wake up in the middle of the night.

Several times. Breathing heavily.

Looking around the room to check if everything is in place.

Then I leave it.

Go to another room.

Look at my mom from the doorway.

Up until now, she still breathes when I visit her at night.

She doesn't know about this.

I don't want to worry her.

But lately, they've become regular.

Very regular.

I have nightmares.

Nightmares of a day when she won't breathe when I visit her.

I start to cry in this dream.

And when I finally wake up -

I continue to cry.}
